PhotoImpressionism has been my primary
photographic interest since 1996. By applying precise and delicate pressure
to the emulsion of the film with a fine hand-tool, I move the look of
my images away from sharp photographic realism to a mysterious
painterly style.
The original print is scanned into a high resolution system. Color saturation
and hues may be altered or enhanced in some images. Each enlarged color
print is produced on archival photographic paper -- in limited editions.
Printing can also be done on fine art watercolor paper or canvas, then
hand embellished with paint. Because of today's printing technology
and my expertise in shooting and printing, I am able to make enlargements
of 24" x 24" and greater without losing quality.
The texture that is my signature style in each image is deliberate and
refined. The images are often simple, poetic and comforting.
